Jessica Alba is going to be playing Barbarella in a remake of the classic sci-fi movie. Jessica will take on the erotic role made famous by Jane Fonda in 1968.
Alba, 27, landed the part after director Robert Rodriguez split from his actress girlfriend, Rose McGowan.
He had been planning to remake the film with Rose in the leading role, but studio bosses refused to finance the £50million scheme because Rose wasn’t a big enough name.
An insider said: “Now Rose is out of the picture, Jessica is perfect – she’s gorgeous and can be a badass on screen.”
