The ill girl who Jessica took out for a shopping spree recently, has spoken out about her time with Alba, saying she is her “guardian angel.” Jessica met nine-year-old Alina Kent as part of the Kid’s Wish Network, a charity which grants the wishes of terminally-ill children. Alina revealed that after a day of shopping and pampering, Jessica challenged her to a water competition. She said: “We talked about movies, acting and her being pregnant. And we were silly, too. Because I have to drink a lot of water, we had a water drinking contest!”
Alina - who suffers from mitral valve regurgitation, a rare disease which causes the blood to be pumped backwards into the heart and can lead to heart failure - said meeting her idol lived up to all her expectations. She added: “I don’t get to eat chocolate or go on roller coasters, so there’s not too much excitement in my life. But I was a ball of excitement when I met her. I felt really good about myself that day, like a normal kid with no heart condition. Jessica was like my guardian angel.” |
