Jessica and Cash were spotted doing some grocery shopping at Whole Foods over the weekend. Wearing casual clothing, they bought loads of healthy food and drinks.

Jessica appeared at The 80th Academy Awards Scientific and Technical Awards Ceremony held at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel on February 9, 2008 in Beverly Hills, California. She looks great! More pictures below.

Jessica Alba, who has long been dogged in the blogosphere by accusations that she’s abandoned her Latina roots, is hitting back in a new magazine interview.

“I always took pride in being Latina,” the actress says in the March issue of Latina magazine.

Alba, who recently announced she is pregnant with fiancé Cash Warren’s baby, also says, “I’m excited for my baby to be brown. I just have to believe the dark gene is going to survive. Cash and I are like, please.”

Responding to rumors that she cut loose from her Mexican heritage, she says, “I never said that. Cut loose from what? Why would I want to cut loose from the only family I know?” (Alba’s father is Mexican-American, though both of his parents were born in California. Her mother is of Danish and French descent.)

Jessica has been on a lot of magazine covers lately, the latest one being Marie Claire.

In the interview with MC, Jessica talks about being bullied in school and about being a role model. Highlights below:

On being a role model:
“When I was a little girl, I always wanted someone to look up to. I think identity was a big deal to me because I didn’t fit in with one certain race. I always wanted someone who looked like me, who was a positive role model.”

On being bullied at school:
“I had a lot of haters. They’d unzip my backpack so my books would fall out. They’d tie my shoes together. They’d ‘accidentally’ spill lunches on me.”

“I have to believe that when you have a child and you have someone that needs you and needs your time, you kind of can’t be self-interested anymore and you have to consider that any time you spend away from your child is invaluable. Pregnancy has Jessica going crazy over small things, which has lead to her kicking Cash out of the house twice, but all ends well. The following quote is from The Tyra Banks Show:

“I think I threw him out of the house twice already since I’ve been pregnant, and he’s like, ‘Are you just pregnant? I hope you’re just pregnant and acting crazy,’ and I’m like, ‘It has nothing to do with that’. And then we cry and we hug and he’s like, ‘You’re preggers, what do you want?’ Little things get me so mad… You get so emotional when you’re pregnant, and so irrational. It’s totally dumb.”

Jessica has claimed that she was attacked in bed by a ghost when she was 17 years old.

Jessica said her parents were forced to call in expert help after a “presence” ripped the covers off her bed.

She revealed that the incident has given her nightmares ever since, saying: “I had no idea what it was. I felt this pressure and I couldn’t get up, I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t do anything.

Jessica: I found out I was pregnant in September. I was shocked! [laughs] It was bizarre and amazing. Cash was shocked too. It was a total surprise. But it was jarring at first, because we knew the rest of our lives would be different now.

Cash: We’re about to embark on the biggest journey of our lives, and I can’t wait.

Jessica Alba plans to tie the knot in a simple registry office service and then have a party with her friends.

She said: “Everyone I know hates weddings. I’ve been to very big, beautiful and romantic weddings, but I would rather just throw a big party.

“I am probably going to go to get my certificate at the City Council, throw a big party for the family and that’s about it.”
