Jessica Alba is planning to jump straight back in front of the camera as soon as she gives birth to her first child later this year.

The 26-year-old actress has revealed that once she gets out of labor, she will soon get back to work so that she can set a good example for her baby.

“Of course. I think it’s important to still be your own person. I don’t know if it’s healthy if you lose yourself completely, Contactmusic quoted Alba, as saying.

Jessica, who is about 5 months pregnant, is trying to follow an environmentally friendly lifestyle as much as possible, so that her child will follow in her footsteps after birth.

The 26-year-old says that she wants to set a good example for her unborn child, as she would like her kid to grow up caring for the environment.

“I drive a Prius (an eco-friendly car), and I try to recycle as much as I can, I bought a house, and I’m doing all eco-friendly renovations. Most of my furniture is old, and I’m refurbishing it,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Jessica Alba will speak nothing but Spanish, at least for a while, when her baby is born later this year because she regretted not picking up the language of her grandparents when she was a child.

Alba reveals her father only spoke English to her and her brother because he wanted them to become model Americans - and it took her years to master basic Spanish.

She tells Latina magazine: “I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it.”

Jessica and Cash were spotted doing some grocery shopping at Whole Foods over the weekend. Wearing casual clothing, they bought loads of healthy food and drinks.

Jessica Alba, who has long been dogged in the blogosphere by accusations that she’s abandoned her Latina roots, is hitting back in a new magazine interview.

“I always took pride in being Latina,” the actress says in the March issue of Latina magazine.

Alba, who recently announced she is pregnant with fiancé Cash Warren’s baby, also says, “I’m excited for my baby to be brown. I just have to believe the dark gene is going to survive. Cash and I are like, please.”

Responding to rumors that she cut loose from her Mexican heritage, she says, “I never said that. Cut loose from what? Why would I want to cut loose from the only family I know?” (Alba’s father is Mexican-American, though both of his parents were born in California. Her mother is of Danish and French descent.)

On being a role model:
“When I was a little girl, I always wanted someone to look up to. I think identity was a big deal to me because I didn’t fit in with one certain race. I always wanted someone who looked like me, who was a positive role model.”

On being bullied at school:
“I had a lot of haters. They’d unzip my backpack so my books would fall out. They’d tie my shoes together. They’d ‘accidentally’ spill lunches on me.”
