The ill girl who Jessica took out for a shopping spree recently, has spoken out about her time with Alba, saying she is her “guardian angel.”

Jessica met nine-year-old Alina Kent as part of the Kid’s Wish Network, a charity which grants the wishes of terminally-ill children.

Alina revealed that after a day of shopping and pampering, Jessica challenged her to a water competition.

She said: “We talked about movies, acting and her being pregnant. And we were silly, too. Because I have to drink a lot of water, we had a water drinking contest!”

Jessica Alba is planning to take a break from acting after she has her baby, rumored to be a girl.

Jessica says she will be in no rush to get back to work following the birth.

She said: “I’m just going to sit back and figure out what this whole experience of being a mother is all about, and taking that in.”

Jessica also revealed when she eventually returns to the movie industry, she would like to work with her movie producer fiancé Cash Warren.

A second baby shower was thrown for Jessica and her fiancé Cash Warren. The first shower was thrown by friends, but this time Alba’s mom threw the shower in her hometown of Pomona, California.

“The first shower was thrown by her friends, but her mom wanted to throw something more intimate for the family,” says an insider.

Invitation were printed on a special paper made with wildflower seeds so they can be planted.

In a recent interview with Metro in the UK, Jessica Alba spoke about a number of things: How she loves wine, she tells how her parents’s old house was haunted, she talks about those “bikini roles” she’s always offered, and she talks about her pregnancy and engagement. You worked with Emily Mortimer years ago. So did you already know your Eye co-star, her husband Alessandro Nivola?
No. We met a few years ago at an Oscars party but I didn’t really know him before this. He’s great. It’s so nice to see people in this business happily married and dedicated to their families. It’s really encouraging. It can be done.

How did you prepare for the physical aspects of this role?
For me, it was about trying to make the blindness as believable as possible. I wanted to make it as authentic as I could but I ended up feeling quite claustrophobic. I wore these sleep shades they gave me at the blind orientation centre. It was such a relief to take them off but people who are blind obviously can’t do that. Just going to the bathroom or walking down the street or even opening the door, everything was overwhelming. The violin was pretty challenging, too. I practised for six months.

Could you do it as an alternative career?
Can you imagine starting aged three and having to practise that much to be a classical musician? Playing in front of a real orchestra was one of the hardest things I’ve done. They do it for a living and I was sitting there supposed to be the lead violinist.

Are you interested in classical music?
I enjoyed playing at the stage when I could play the notes and keep up. My grandfather’s a classical guitar player but I haven’t been exposed to much classical music.

Jessica recently spoke to Metro about how she can’t wait to become a mom:

‘I’ve known since I was a little girl. I’m the oldest of 15 cousins. I’ve babysat them, changed diapers, fed them their bottles and burped them since I was about six.’

Jessica says the only down side to being pregnant is not being able to drink.

‘Sometimes I want a few glasses of wine,’ she tells the Metro.

Jessica and Cash are making the final preparations for their first child – and Jess says time’s running out.

“I’m just trying to get my house ready before the baby comes,” Alba, 26, said Wednesday night at People’s book party for Healthy Child Healthy World author Christopher Gavigan. “It’s kind of hectic, it’s getting close and the house isn’t even ready yet.”

With Alba taking time off from acting, she’s handling the bulk of the duties to get ready for baby, which Alba revealed recently is a girl.

“I’m not working so it’s been a good place to put all my energy so it’s been a nice distraction,” she said at the event at Lucques restaurant in West Hollywood.

Jessica has reportedly asked guests from her baby shower to partake in a ritual to help ensure her baby is healthy.

According to the New York Post, guests at Jessica’s celebration last weekend were asked to don leather bracelets and say a prayer for “life, love, healthy et cetera”. The guests were then asked not to take off the bracelets until after the baby was born next month.

The event was organized by Jessica’s manager and his wife and was attended by around 30 of the actress’s friends and family. The predominantly pink gifts from Jessica’s registry added fuel to the rumours that she’s expecting a baby girl.

Jessica Alba celebrated the upcoming birth of her first child with an intimate baby shower in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The 26-year-old welcomed about 40 guests to the lunchtime baby bash at the new Ever After Tea House in Studio City. Her big announcement: She’s having a girl.

“She’s been telling friends she’s having a girl,” says a source, who confirms Alba received a lot of pink gifts at her shower, including a onesie from L.A.’s Intuition.

Alba also registered at Bel Bambini (where Christina Aguilera shopped), and received the Bloom Fresco High Chair from a friend. She is decorating her nursery with organic products and got several items from Soleil Moon Frye’s eco-friendly store The Little Seed.

According to various reports and “a source close to the couple,” Jessica Alba and hubby-to-be Cash Warren are having a baby girl, and her name is going to be Honor.

According to Star magazine, a friend of Jessica’s bought a bracelet with the girl’s name engraved on it.

Jessica has allegedly picked the name because she “felt it was an honor to have Cash’s baby”.

The baby shower was held yesterday in Los Angeles and there were loads of purple balloons. Pictures coming soon!

Jessica’s latest movie The Eye is going to be released on Blu-ray on June 3rd. No other information, such as special features, cover etc., has been released yet.
