Now that she and Cash have bought a house together, it’s time to buy some furniture, and that’s exactly what Jessica was doing the other day. Her and a friend were spotted at an antique furniture store in Los Angeles, where they did a spot of shopping, after having had lunch at La Scala earlier in the day.

Jessica is fuming over gossip blogger Perez Hilton’s claims she is ashamed of her Latin heritage.

Hilton has targeted the Mexican-American actress on his website, dubbing her Jessica ‘Don’t call me Latina’ Alba.

But Jessica insists Hilton is picking on her because she wouldn’t have her picture taken with him.

Alba says, “It was all because I wouldn’t take photos with him at a nightclub. It would probably be smart for me to hang out and kiss up to what’s his name, Perez.

“Of course I’m proud of my heritage. That’s all I know. I only know a Mexican-American upbringing.”

Jessica scared of Broadway debut

Jessica Alba is scared that she will be panned by critics when she makes her Broadway debut later in 2008.

Alba will star in David Mamet’s latest edition of the “Speed-the-Plow.” The play is a satirical dissection of the American movie business – debating art versus money.

Alba, who plays Karen (a starlet), is not sure whether she will be able to handle bad press if there is any. She says: “Whether I do a good job or not, people will be nasty. Even Claire Danes, who’s a respected actress, got s**t. I don’t know if I feel like being ridiculed like that.”

Dane Cook has spoken out about his Good Luck Chuck co-star, Jessica Alba, and says she’ll be a great mother.

On whether Jess will be a good mom, the actor, 35, had nothing but kind words for his former leading lady. “She’ll be fantastic. She’s so compassionate and very attentive,” Dane tells America’s OK! Magazine.

“Some people you kind of feel like they’re meant for that, and she’s one of those people that just has those nurturing qualities.”

Despite what certain sites are writing about Jessica Alba, she says she is in fact proud of her heritage and especially her Mexican roots.

Speaking to Elle magazine, Jessica said: “I’m proud of my heritage. That’s all I know! I only know a Mexican-American upbringing. Nobody really knows what to do with me.

“I’m half Latin, but I grew up in the States, and I can’t get roles playing a Latina because I don’t speak Spanish.

“And I don’t want to be the best friend, or the promiscuous girl, or the maid, because those stereotypes still exist with Latin roles. I want to be a leading lady.”

Referring to a family holiday to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Alba admitted she clashed with her parents over how to spend their time, with her mother and father opting to relax in popular bar chain Senor Frogs.
